 Nestle chocolate chip cookie recipe

The Chocolate Chip Cookie is America's most famous cookie. It was invented in 1930 by Ruth Wakefield, who was the owner of the Toll House Inn in Massachusetts. The story goes that one day she decided to add small chunks of a Nestle's Semisweet Yellow Label Chocolate bar to her butter cookie dough. These 'chocolate chip' cookies were an instant hit with her customers and word of their popularity reached the Nestle company. Nestle must have realized that adding small chunks of their chocolate bar to cookie dough would appeal to the mass market because by 1939 Nestle had already developed, and was selling, small chocolate morsels (or chips) in a yellow bag. Nestle then went on to buy the rights to the Toll House name and to Ruth Wakefield's 'chocolate chip' cookie recipe. They called her recipe "The Famous Toll House Cookie" and printed it on the back of the Yellow bag of chocolate chips.
This Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe is very similar to the recipe on the back of the bag of Nestle's Chocolate Chips and my kids never seem to tire of them. Made with unsalted butter and a combination of white and brown sugars, it produces a rich and chewy cookie with caramelized edges. Although flour, sugar (white and/or brown), butter or margarine, baking powder and/or baking soda, eggs, vanilla, and chocolate chips make up a chocolate chip cookie recipe, taste and texture do vary by recipe. So if you want to try another type of chocolate chip cookie I have included a recipe for Chocolate Chunk Cookies.

Nestle waters ® Pure Life® Purified Water Signs Up for Another Year With The Breast Cancer Research Foundation® in Support of Breast Cancer Awareness.

research.

This  October,  the  makers  of  Nestle ® Pure  Life ® bottled  water  (NPL)  will
again support breast cancer awareness and research with their "Pink Pack"
retail  program.  This  will  be  the  third  year  that  NPL  has  sported  the  pink
ribbon logo of The Breast Cancer Research Foundation ® (BCRF).
Currently,  91  cents  of  every  dollar  spent  by  BCRF  is  directed  towards
breast cancer research and awareness programs.

Every  NPL  "Pink  Pack"  produced  counts  towards  the  donation  to  BCRF,
with  a  minimum  donation  this  year  of $500,000.  Available  at  retailers
nationwide,  as  well  as  in  Canada,  and  through  the  company's  Home
Delivery Service, the special packs are marked with a symbolic pink ribbon
and the BCRF logo.
The  "Pink  Pack"  offerings  include  the  .5L  24pk,  28pk,  30pk,  32pk,  8oz.
24pk,  and  3L  bottle.

New  to  this  year's  program,  NPL  is  inviting  consumers  to  join  its  effort  by
making  their  own  contributions  towards  the  cause  by  visiting  a  dedicated
"Pink Pack" page on BCRF's Time For Research fundraising website.

"Unfortunately,  breast  cancer  affects  and  is  a  concern  for  many  of  our
consumers,  our  employees,  and  our  retail  partners,"  said  Hillary  Fleming,
who manages the program for Nestle Waters North America. "

The  success  of  this  program  has  enabled  us  to  increase  our  donations  to
BCRF  year  after  year.  We  are  confident  that  success  will  continue  this
October,  especially  with  the  addition  of the online donation page, because
now  we  are  offering  a  way  for  our  consumers  and  employees  to  get
involved as well."

As the NPL Pink Pack program enters its third successful year with BCRF,
the 2012 donation will not only fund a new researcher's work to fight breast
cancer,  but  also  will  be  able  to  renew  support  to  two  other  BCRF  grants
funded in past years; one focused on alleviating negative side effects from
breast cancer treatment, and the other working towards developing drugs to
prevent breast cancer in those with the BRCA-mutation (the breast cancer
susceptibility gene).

"Through the 'Pink Pack' Program, Nestle Pure Life bottled water has been
a dedicated BCRF partner by supporting worthwhile research and joining in
our  fight  against  breast  cancer,"  said  Robbie  Finke  Franklin,  director  of
marketing  at  The  Breast  Cancer  Research  Foundation.  "We  value  Nestle
Waters as a company that shares our mission to find a cure and eliminate
the disease in our lifetime."

According to the American Cancer Society, more than 200,000 women will
be diagnosed with breast cancer this year in the U.S. alone; it is the second
most  common  cause  of  cancer  deaths  in  women.  As  a brand
that recognizes the responsibility women have regarding the health of their
families and  themselves,  breast  cancer  is  a  health  issue  to  which  many
Nestle Pure Life consumers can relate.

 Nestles toll house cookies
The FDA and CDC today warned consumers not to eat any varieties of prepackaged Nestle Toll House refrigerated cookie dough due to the risk of contamination with E. coli O157:H7 bacteria.
The FDA advises consumers who have prepackaged, refrigerated Nestle Toll House cookie dough products to throw them away. Cooking the dough is not recommended either, because consumers might get the E. coli bacteria on their hands and on other cooking surfaces.
Retailers, restaurateurs, and personnel at other food-service operations should not sell or serve any Nestle refrigerated cookie dough products subject to this Toll House Cookie Dough recall.
Nestle USA, which makes the Toll House cookie dough, is fully cooperating with the ongoing investigation by the FDA and CDC. The warning is based on an ongoing epidemiological study conducted by the CDC and several state and local health departments. Since March 2009 there have been 66 reports of Toll House Cookie Dough-related E. coli illness across 28 states. At least twenty-five persons were hospitalized; 7 with a severe complication called Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome (HUS). So far there have been no deaths.

If you are a crunchy cookie aficionado, I have a special treat for you today. It’s an easy, butter-only (no shortening) recipe for a thin-to-medium-thickness chocolate chip cookie that is crunchy through and through. Here’s the recipe as I made it, with notes about the flour.   If you have a scale, it’s best to weight the flour for accuracy since it can settle in the canister or bag.

Ingredients : nestle toll house cookie recipe
  • 1 3/4 cups (220 grams), stir and aerate flour before measuring
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 8 tablespoons unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 1/3 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions : nestle toll house cookie recipe
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line a couple of cookie sheets with parchment.
  2. Sift or thoroughly whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Set aside.
  3. Cream butter and both sugars with an electric mixer; Add egg and vanilla and beat until egg is mixed in.
  4. Add flour mixture and stir until incorporated. Stir in chocolate chips.
  5. Drop by rounded teaspoons onto the parchment lined cookie sheets and bake for 12-15 minutes (or longer) or until the edges start to brown. The baking powder prevents the cookies from browning quickly, so it seems the cookies can bake a longer time and becoming crunchier without burning or getting overly brown. I baked mine on an insulated cookie sheet, so if you notice your bottoms are browning too fast, switch to an insulated cookie sheet or stack you cookie sheet on top of another one to make your own insulated sheet.
Notes
If you have a scale it doesn’t matter, but if you are measuring by volume, make sure to really stir and aerate the flour thoroughly before measuring.
